Acura is both the luxury and performance division of Honda. Based in North America, they have been in operation since 1986. Ever since 1987. they sell over 100k units every year in the United States. Accura has used a wide range of transmissions from 6-speed manual to dual-clutch transmissions. It is the official brand of the S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel's fictional organization. Used Acura CSX Transmission alone commands a huge demand in used car parts industry.

The designer John Ideka is the Vice President and one of the key people behind the brand. The 'Acu' in Acura, a Latin word, loosely translates to being mechanically precise. The calipher in the logo, a measurement tool reflects the meticulous attention that is put into the cars. Acura first brought the VTEC variable valve timing control system to the United States. Later, they introduced new models to revive its fortunes post the 2000s. The launch of the Acura brand coincided with the JDM's Honda dealership sales channel, the Honda Clio.

Operating in the U.S. since 1986, they have had a great 80s. The sales figures went on the wane in the 90s. However, they revived post 2000, thanks to newer tech features. Besides U.S. markets, they also sold cars in the Canada, Mexico, Panama and Kuwait. They flanked the likes of BMW and Benz out of the competition in luxury markets. Also, it inspired other Japanese carmakers, Toyota and Nissa to launch their luxury divisions - Lexus and Infiniti. Acu in Accura is a latin word, loosely translating to being mechanically precise. It's Calipher type logo indicates it mechanical precision. Moreover, Accura introduced Honda's VTEC in the North American automotive markets.

Accura CSX

Accura launched their subcompact executive car, the Acura CSX in Canada. Designed exclusively for the Canadian market, it remained exclusive to Canada much like the EL. Also, Acura built these models in their Alliston, Ontario plant. In the 2013 model year, ILX replaced the CSX, which is available also in the United States. It is also dubbed as the 8th generation Honda Civic. The model went into production from November 2005 to 2011 for model years from 2006 to 2011. Designers Motoaki Minowa and Jiro Ikeda designed this executive model. The 4-door sedan used a front-engine and front-wheel drive layout. The body is related to the Honda CR-V and Honda Element.

CSX employs the same chassis as in 2006-2011 Honda Civic. Exclusively, the Civic sedan sold in North American automotive markets. CSX differentiated from its North American counterpart with a slightly longer nose with headlamp clusders and creased up hood's centreline. In the rear end, jeweled taillamps along with the shaping of the trunk's sheet metal. Moreover, the CSX shared the 2.0 L DOHC i-VTEC engine with the JDM Civic. It pumps out 155 horses @ 6,000 RPM and 188 Nm @ 4,500 RPM of torque. Besudes, it shares the front and rear fascias and steering wheel design of the JDM Civic. Later, they put the CSX model on sale from November 2005 as the 2006 model.

Multiple transmission models

It came in 3 trims including the touring base models, premium model, and premium plus navi model. The base model used paddle shifters for automatic transmission models. Acura CSX used the 5-speed automatic transmission. The automatic transmission translated the awesomeness of a 2.0 L inline-4 engine. The engine returns a fuel economy of 30 mpg in the city, and 43 mpg on the highway, aggregating a combined fuel economy of 38-40 mpg. However, the manual transmission-powered models return a fuel economy of 32 mpg in the city, and 44 mpg on the highway, aggregating a combined fuel economy of 40-42 mpg.

Also, Honda came up with the Type-S variant in the 2007 model year. It made use of the 6-speed manual transmission, therein delivering an exciting driving experience.
