Used Infiniti engine

Nissan, the Japanese carmaker released their luxury car division through the Infiniti brand. Since 1989, they have served over 50 markets including North America. The brand logo styling represents two things – the road touching the horizon and Mount Fiji in Japan. Though the cars come cheap today, they introduced Infiniti as a premium brand in the 90s in the United States. Incidentally, Nissan’s mainstream image didn’t fit so well with specializing in premium brands. Hence, Infiniti arrived in the U.S. territory in 1989. Interestingly, it competed with a couple of Japanese rivals – Lexus from Toyota and Acura from Honda. The Japanese government helped car makers export to the United States with voluntary export restraints. Besides the Americas, the brand enjoyed a significant presence in Taiwan, the Middle East, and China. Once sold exclusively as a premium and performance vehicle, the Infiniti engine is a top product today.

In the early 2000s, Infiniti bagged sales of over 80,000 units annually, which peaked at 136,000 units by 2005. The sales floated above 110,000 units up until 2019. Since 2020, it kept dropping from 79,502 units in 2020 to 46,619 units in 2022. In Canada, the sales peaked at 12,488 annually in 2017. Nissan came up with a lot of concept vehicles through this brand. By 2010, they introduced their performance marque – the Infiniti Performance line. In the late 90s, they attempted forging a name for themselves at the MotorSports. From the Indy Racing League to the British Touring Car Championship, Nissan tried extensively with this brand, returning reasonable success. Moreover, the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance helped with a lending hand as well.
