The second-generation Acura RL is a rebadged version of the fourth-generation Honda Legend. It was introduced in the North American market in 2005. This generation of RL got its mid-generation facelift in the 2009 model year. It used a front-engine and AWD layout. The model featured a 3.5 L V6 engine pulling 290 horses for model years 2005 to 2008. Later, the model featured a 3.7 L V6 engine pulling 300 horses for model years 2009 to 2012. The 3.5 L engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. Later, the 3.7 L V6 engine is fitted with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
