The Accura Integra was sold in the United States and Canada from 1985 to 2001. The car is assembled in the Suzuka and Mie plants in Japan. Later, the Acura Integra relaunched in 2022 is produced in the Marysville Auto Plant. It is used with the front-engine and four-wheel drive body layout. The model replaced the Honda Quint and led the way for the Acura RSX, Acura EL, and Acura ILX. It used varying body styles - 3-door liftback coupé, 4-door sedan and 5-door liftback.

First Generation Integra

The first generation Integra was in production from 1985 to 1989 for the model years of 1986 to 1989. It comes with four different engines - 1.5 L EW5, 1.6 L ZC, 1.6 L D16A1, and 1.5 L D15A1. The 1.5 L EW5 is a fuel-injected 12-valve engine producing horsepower and torque of 99 hp @ 5,800 RPM and 129 Nm @ 4,000 RPM. The 1.6 L ZC engine produces a torque of 126-144 Nm @ 5,500 - 5,7000 RPM. The 1.6 L D16A1 engine produces power and torque of 113 hp @ 6,250 RPM and 134 Nm @ 5,500 RPM.

Similarly, the 1.5 L D15A1 engine produces horsepower and torque of 76 hp @ 5,500 RPM and 114 Nm @ 3,500 RPM. The engines were fitted to 5-speed manual transmissions and 4-speed automatic. Importantly, the first generation Integra employed the 1.6 L DOHC 16 valve, 4-cylinder engine. The 86-87 engine is dubbed as a Browntop and the 88-89 engine is dubbed as the Blacktop. The naming represents the color of the valve colors.

Second Generation Integra

The second generation Integra went into production from 1989 to 1993 for the model years of 1990 to 1993. Accura offers three trim levels - RS, LS, and GS. All the trim levels were mated with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The lone exception is the GS-R, which came with a 5-speed manual alone. The second generation Acura Integra featured a 1.8 L DOHC 4-cylinder engine pumping out a decent 130 hp. The GS-R liftback used a 1.7 L DOHC VTEC 4-cylinder engine pumping out 160 hp. The model sold 3,118 units in 1992 and 850 units in 1993, in the United States alone. Overall, close to 5k units were sold in North America.
