Being primarily based in the United States, they also sell units in Mexico, Canada, Panama, and Kuwait. They started with considerable success in the late 80s. During that time, it competed successfully against the likes of other luxury brands such as BMW and Mercedes Benz. However, sales began to drop gradually in the 1990s. Later, Acura revived its fortunes after 2000, on the back of newer technologies. Used Acura TLX Engine is a matter of decades after its peak.

Acura TLX

Acura TLX is a 4-door entry-level luxury sedan. The brand sold this model since 2014. It replaced the TL and TSX models. Since the discontinuation of the RLX in 2021, the TLX has been the flagship of the Acura brand. It has been in production since 2014 for the model year of 2016. Acura TLX uses a front-engine & FWD, and front-engine & AWD layouts. It is shown as the TLX prototype designed at the Los Angeles Design Studio. Acura unveiled the TLX at the 2014 New York International Auto Show. Acura produced TLX at Marysville Ohio, with sales beginning in August 2014. They sold over 47k models in 2015, with the sales dropping ever since 2018. There are two generations of Acura TLX.

First Generation TLX

The first generation TLX was designed by Jarad Hall and developed at Marysville Auto Plant. They offer 2 engine options - 2.4 L inline-4 and 3.5 L V6. The 2.4 L DOHC VTEC engine used a direct fuel injection system. It is mated with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission along with AWS. First Generation TLX offers a EPA estimated combined fuel economy of 22 miles per gallon. It produces a massive horsepower of 205 hp for a sedan. Similarly, the 3.5 L SOHC VTEC V6 also used the direct fuel injection system. It is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, sourced from ZF, available with either all-wheel steering (P-AWS) or all-wheel drive (SH-AWD). Pumping out 290 horses, it delivers a combined fuel economy of 25 miles per gallon. The 2.4 inline-4 is part of the Honda K series and the 3.5 L V6 is part of the Honda K series.

TLX Facelift (2017)

Acura unveiled the 2018 TLX Facelift in 2017. It came with a few cosmetic upgrades including front fascia, restyled wheels, grille, and fenders. The TLX-L came fitted with the 2.4 L inline-5 alone, returbing 205 horses. In addition, Acura offered the new 'A-Spec'performance trim. Also, they offered features such as the optional 360 surround camera and thigh extension for drivers.

Second Generation TLX

Based on the Type S concept introduced in 2019, TLX was launched in 2020. The Type S model featured a 3.0 L turbocharged DOHC V6 engine, which produced 355 horses and 480 Nm of torque. Moreover, TLX turned into Acura's flagship after they discontinued RLX models. The second generation TLX went into production in 2020 for the 2021 model year. It was designed by Ben Davidson in 2018 and assembled at Marysville Auto Plant. It came with two engine options - a 2.0 L inline-4 engine pumping out 272 horses (Honda K series) and a 3.0 L V6 pumping out 355 horses (Honda J series). The engine was mated with a 10-speed automatic to suit the modern needs. In addition, Acura came up with the powerful Type S variant, which returned 355 hp and 480 Nm of torque.
