Used Acura Zdx Engine Years

Used Acura ZDX Engine

Honda launched their luxury division, the Acura for the U.S. automotive markets. Being primarily based in the United States, they have been in operation since 1986. However, Acura models also sell in other markets including Canada, Mexico, Panama, and Kuwait. In its prime, Acura successfully competed with the likes of BMW and Mercedes Benz. After a slight decline in the nineties, Acura boosted their sales again post 2000. They brought in newer technologies from Honda to revive their fortunes, Used Acura ZDX Engine beefed up in such a pattern.

Furthermore, Acura is the first brand to bring Honda VTEC to the United States. The initial success of Acura inspired Toyota and Nissan to launch the Lexus and Infiniti brands respectively. At Turbo Autoparts, our engineering experts have decades of hands-on experience working in various Acura models across lineups, engines, and transmissions. These are premium engines requiring premium care and maintenance.

Acura ZDX

ZDX is a mid-size luxury crossover from the Honda factory. Originally planned as MSX, Acura unveiled the model at the 2009 New York International Auto Show 2009. It's the first to be entirely developed at Accura's Southern California design studio in Torrance. Michelle Christensen who developed the ZDX concept, labelled it as a 4-door luxury sports coupe. Acura claimed that the ZDX blurred the distinction between coupe, sedan, and sports utility. It employed Accura's first 6-speed automatic transmission and other luxury appointments. Albeit sharing the same body as the Honda Crosstour, it is not mechanically related. ZDX is mechanically similar to the Acura MDX and Honda Pilot. The ZDX nameplate will return for the brand's first electric vehicle in 2024. The up-and-coming ZDX is to be developed in collaboration with General Motors. Original ZDX remained in production from 2009 to 2013 for model years 2010 to 2013.

First Generation ZDX

The first generation ZDX used a 3.7 L engine pulling 300 horses @ RPM and torque of 336 Nm @ 4,500 Nm. Mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission, it is a VTEC V4 engine. The all-aluminum block is part of the Honda J series. The gasoline engine felt adequate for the SUV. It offered the EPA estimated fuel economy of 16 miles per gallon in the city and 22 miles per gallon on the highway. Combinedly, it aggregated a decent 19 miles per gallon. As Acura shifted its focus to new models and core products, it discontinued the series after the 2013 model year. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) offered a 5-star safety rating. The model replaced the Acura RDX and was later, replaced by the Acura MDX. Also, it used a front-engine, four-wheel drive layout.

The 2010-2013 Acura ZDX used the J37A5 engine from the Honda J Series. With a 3.7 L displacement, it offered a horsepower of 300 hp @ 6,300 RPM and torque of 366 Nm @ 4,500 RPM. It uses a valvetrain of 24v SOHC VTEC for intake and exhaust systems. The bore and stroke ratio of 90 mm x 96 mm produces a compression ratio of 11:2:1. It uses a multi-point fuel injection system along with the PGM-FI tech. The J37A5 engine powered the Acura ZDX as a luxury crossover SUV.

Second Generation ZDX

The Second Generation ZDX is yet to be launched in 2024 as Accura's first electric vehicle. The company unveiled the second generation ZDX in August 2023. Second Generation ZDX is based on the General Motors Ultium vehicle architecture. It is the very same system that built the Cadillac Lyriq, GMC Hummer EV, and Honda Prologue. It will use a rear-motor and rear-wheel drive layout in ZDX A-Spec. Similarly, it featured a dual-motors and front-wheel drive layout in the ZDX Type S model. The permanent magnet motor will pump out 335 horses in ZDX A-Spec and 493 horses in ZDX Type S. It is estimated to come with an electric range of 320 miles.

I was nervous to buy an engine on line. I've heard a lot of bad stories but they got me a beautiful Infiniti qx80 engine in a timely manner and it's running great. I would use them again.
