Used Genesis Transmission Models

Used Genesis Transmission

Genesis Motor LLC is the luxury division of Hyundai, the top South Korean car maker. It first began with the new luxury Genesis Sedan in 2004. Then, Hyundai announced Genesis as an independent marque in 2015. Genesis G90 is the first standalone model from the brand. Genesis cars are designed in Germany, the U.S., and South Korea, but produced only in South Korea. Hyundai first conceived the Concept Genesis' in 2003. They focussed on modern-day rear-wheel drive sedans. The sporty design and body consumed three years and $500 million in development costs.

The first-ever Genesis concept sedan alone conducted reliability testing for 800,000 miles. Later, Hyundau introduced Genesis at the 2008 North American International Auto Show. However, they marketed it as a Hyundai model by then. After an internal debate, Hyundai decided to create a separate marque for the brand. Hence, the interoperability gives used Genesis transmission a whole lot of value.

Hyundai Genesis

Hyundai Genesis is a luxury sedan marketed globally by Hyundai for over two generations. It's a four-door, five-passenger car powered by rear or all-wheel drive. They also introduced it as a concept car at the New York International Auto Show in 2007. Originally formulated as the BH model, the car incurred a development cost of over half a billion. They marketed it as a premium sports sedan model all over the world. Its second generation model or the DH model debuted in South Korea towards the end of 2013.

Previously, they introduced the car at the Toronto Auto Show and the North American International Auto Show. This model was the key in Hyundai's decision to move into the brand of Genesis Motor, their luxury division. However, it was replaced wholly in 2017, while the second generation Genesis was renamed as G80. The model enjoyed immense success, pushing the brand to the mainstream Genesis nameplate.

class='html_title'>First Generation Genesis

The first-generation model is designated in the BH lineup. Its model years range from 2009 to 2014. It used a front engine and rear-wheel drive design. It used many engine variants including V6 variants of 3.3 L and 3.8 L MPi and GDi variants. Additionally, the brand used V8 engines in two capacities 4.6 L and 5.0 L variants. Needless to say, these are all strictly petrol variants. The models came fitted with 6-speed automatic and 8-speed automatic transmissions.

Between all variants, the engines pumped out a horsepower of 262 to 430 hp and accompanied a torque of 264 to 510 Nm. The models maintained a top speed of 149 mph and did a 0 to 60 mph in as quick as 6 seconds. The U.S. models employed the choice of 3.8 Lambda GDi, Tau 4.6 MPi, and 5.0 Tau GDi engines. The Hyundai Genesis (1st Gen) received model year updates in 2010, 2012, and 2014.

Second Generation G80

The second generation Hyundai Genesis is designated in the DH model. They debuted it at the 2014 North American International Auto Show. In the same year, they also introduced the car at the Toronto Auto Show. The model years of the DH model include 2015 to 2016 and 2017 to 2020. The second round of model years is dubbed as the G80. The early models feature four different engines Lambda GDi 3 L, Lambda GDi 3.3 L, Lambda GDi 3.8 L and Tau GDi 5.0 L. All of these models employed rear or all-wheel drive.

These models used 8-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode. Moreover, the G80 got its facelift in the 2016 to 2020 model years. Overall, this car received a five-star safety rating globally. In addition, Hyundai unveiled the Genesis Coupe, a rear-wheel drive sports car at the 2008 New York International Auto Show. This model was assembled in their South Korean assembly plant for the most part.

Various Genesis models

Besides the G80, Genesis introduced a range of sedan and SUV models. The list includes G70, Electrified G80, G90, GV60, GV70, Electrified GV70 & GV80. Also, they introduced many of the concept cars, which later developed into full-blown lineups Vision G, 2016 New York, Essentia, Mint, X, X Speedium Coupe, and X Convertible. This is a brand, or more precisely a lineup from Hyundai that spans over two generations. When Hyundai announced Genesis as a stand-alone brand, they cited three reasons for doing so. Firstly, Genesis enjoyed immense success with warranty a separate brand. Secondly, it ranked easily amongst the top 3 segment sellers. Thirdly, the customers wanted a stand-alone division for Genesis. To be honest, a stand-alone brand was long due, even at the time of announcement.
