How did Mobility Ventures happen?

Vehicle Production Group produced MV1 in 2011. In a couple of years, the company ceased production. Due to business troubles, they started laying off employees. In a short time, they

decided to shut the shop as well. It was all over once their finances dropped below the mandated threshold of the $50 million clean energy loan. The US Department of Energy awarded the benefit to VPG in 2011. It was then, that AM General got in talks with the US Department of Energy. Once they purchased off the loan for $3 million, they acquired all the assets of VPG before the end of 2013. Later, they created Mobility Ventures, now their wholly-owned subsidiary. Mobility Ventures took over the task of making and marketing the MV-1 vehicles with its dealer network. Thanks to such efforts, MV-1 production resumed in 2014.

What's in MV-1?

MV-1 is a purpose-built vehicle with a ramp extending to the ground, thereby allowing your wheelchair passenger to get it. It allows wheelchair passengers to get in the half-empty front seat. VPG themselves halted production in 2012 summers to redesign the tooling for a luxurious version, the MV-1 LX. The LX version enables you to control the access ramp at the comfort of your keyfob. In addition, it will feature wood trims as part of the luxe design. In the later stages, an up-and-advanced Ford 3 .7 L Ti-VCT V6 powered the 2015/1016 models. MV-1 provided a decent fuel economy of 14 miles per gallon in the city, 16 miles per gallon on the highway, and an average of a decent 15 miles per gallon.
