It offered three gasoline engine options - 2.0 L Zetec I4, 2.3 L Duratec 23 I4, and 3.0 L Duratec 30 V6. In addition, they also feature the solo gasoline hybrid engine, the 2.5 L 156 hp Atkinson cycle inline-4 engine.
Second Generation Escape
The second-generation Ford Escape debuted at the 2006 Los Angeles International Auto Show. It went into production from 2007 to 2011 for the model years from 2007 to 2012. Designed by Doyle Letson in 2004, Ford assembled this model in KCAP in Claycomo, Missouri. Also, it is based on the Ford CD2 platform. They offered 3 gasoline options - 2.3 L Duratec 23 inline-4, 2.5 L Duratec 25 inline-4, and 3.0 L Duratec 30 V6. Third Generation Escape
Also called the Ford Kuga, the third-generation Ford Escape went into production from 2012 to 2019 for model years from 2013 to 2019. It featured four different engine options - 1.6 L Ecoboost Turbocharged inline-4, 2.0 L Ecoboost Turbocharged inline-4, 1.5 L Ecoboost Turbocharged inline-4 and 2.5 L Duratec inline-4.
Fourth Generation Escape
Also called the Ford Kuga, the fourth-generation Ford Escape went into production in 2019 for model years from 2020. The model came with a couple of gasoline options - 1.5 L Ecoboost I3 turbo and 2.0 L Ecoboost I4 turbo. In addition, they offered the 2.5 L Duratec inline-4 as a gasoline hybrid option. Ford assembled the engines at the Louisville Assembly plant in Kentucky.
